One day, he met someone new. As they spent more time together, he fell in love, finding renewed hope in her presence. Driven by a desire to hold onto this connection, he pursued her with even greater devotion than before, believing this time would bring a different outcome. However, he later discovered she already had a committed partner. Witnessing his heartbreak from the sidelines, I saw a heart riddled with countless wounds. He yearned for a love that would last, yet time and again, he encountered the wrong people, leaving him hurt. Each painful experience left its mark, until his wounded heart seemed to develop eyes of its own. Each time I heard him recount his experiences, I thought he would never trust anyone again, or dare to open his heart. Yet, he always did. Inevitably, he would find someone new to care for, and offer his trust wholeheartedly once more. I believe it is time that softens the pain, and wounds that ultimately heal, leaving behind scars, but making the past far less sharp. Initially, the intention was for this heart to embody negative emotions, and its name was meant to reflect that. However, after getting to know my friend better, I felt compelled to imbue it with positive strength instead. Every effort may not yield a return, and pouring one's heart out may not always be cherished, but time marches forward, and so must we.
