After World War II, most of the shrine's main structures were dismantled. Today, only remnants like stone lanterns, foundations, and the approach staircase remain within Chiayi Park, serving as a precious historical testament. Adjacent to the shrine ruins is "Showa 18 J18," formerly the Chiayi City Historical Materials Museum. This building originally served as the Kagi Jinja's auxiliary saikan (purification hall) and shamujo (shrine office), constructed in 1943 (Showa 18). The saikan was where Shinto priests prepared for purification rituals before ceremonies, while the shamujo functioned as the shrine's administrative office. The building was designated a municipal historic site in 1998 and opened as a historical materials museum in 2001, showcasing Chiayi's human history and culture. In 2019, Showa 18 J18 transformed into a versatile cultural space offering historical exhibits, light meals and coffee, and kimono experiences. It allows visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of Japanese architecture amidst the scent of cypress wood, gaining a deeper understanding of Chiayi's history and culture.
