Taiwan Shangken 2018 - Special Patterned 3-Eyed Imitation Dzi Bead

The most sought-after Taiwanese bead within the mainland Dzi bead community. It is rumored that they hold multiple patents for imitation Dzi bead techniques. (This claim comes from some competitors specializing in high-quality imitation beads...) Purchased in 2018 from an antique dealer in New Taipei City. The reason for the purchase was to understand the craftsmanship and quality of Taiwanese imitation Dzi beads. The dealer mentioned acquiring it for NT$15,000 and initially listed it for NT$30,000, eventually selling it for NT$20,000. Over the past few years since acquiring it, the imitation techniques of Taiwanese beads have steadily improved. Looking at this early imitation bead more and more, it evokes less interest.
