【Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore】 Another one of my favorite churches is a cathedral in Florence, Italy. It has a 19th-century Gothic Revival style. Its exterior is paved with marble blocks of different shades of white, green and pink. Colorful and harmonious. In 1982, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Baptistery of St. John is located a few meters west of the cathedral. It was built in the 7th century and converted into a white octagonal Romanesque building in the 11th century. Children in Florence were baptized here, including celebrities such as Dante Alighieri and Niccolò di Bernardo dei Machiavelli. The three bronze doors of the Baptistery are engraved with bronze reliefs of stories from the Old Testament. Two of them were made by Ghiberti (Lorenzo di Bartolo) and were praised by Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni as the "Gates of Heaven." ” (Porta del Paradiso). One of the most impressive large domes in the interior is the giant ceiling painting "The Last Judgment" painted by the 16th-century Florentine painter Giorgio Vasari. The "Doomsday Judgment" is the judgment of people after death. The evil ones go to hell and the good ones ascend to heaven. The elements of this earring are marble textured buttons and gold to represent the grandeur of the temple. The cross is engraved with a floral pattern, and above it is a dome-shaped retro hollow part.
