Plate decoration has always been a preferred way of expression for humans, so that utensils closely related to one's life are pleasing to the eye beyond practicality. In the 18th century, after the production of porcelain began in Europe, the smooth surface of porcelain became the best surface for decorative display. The porcelain plates of the six-ke Paris kiln, combined with still life flowers, became another unique canvas.
In 1756, French King Louis XV set up an official kiln for the French royal family in Sèvres to make porcelain for himself and dignitaries. After the 1870s, different folk kilns appeared in Paris. Some even got the sponsorship of the nobles, adopted Seiffel’s shapes and decorative patterns, and even hired Seiffel’s craftsmen to develop the so-called Paris kiln products. Some of these Paris kiln products have their own special signatures, but there are also many unsigned products. Our set of porcelain plates (six guests) has no signature. Judging from the patterns of garlands, gold edges and flowers, they are the common decorations and colors of the Seiffel kiln, and they should be the products of the Paris kiln. The flowers in the center are elegant and meticulous, with vivid pictures, and are made by skilled craftsmen; the gold edge of the rim and the garland ribbons are equally elegant, and the blue piping points out the origin of this group of porcelain plates with the French official kiln Sèvres.
