A dapper tuxedo cat dressed in a suit. Korean Artist Cat Postcard - Black and White Cat Series - Cards & Postcards - Paper

Product Description

Postcard Size: 175mm*115mm With perfectly symmetrical patterns, these are the golden ratio of cat colors. Fierce eyes are the true cat; their soft, cuddly side is only shown to their family. Looking like they're dressed in a suit and holding a bouquet. Who could resist? When hung on the wall, they become the most charming cat paintings. We hope you'll find a sense of leisurely contentment with the cats in these artworks. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54789923122_7fa4da2c9f_c.jpg Hyejin's cats diligently keep her company as she creates, and we can bring these beautiful moments into our lives. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54791102220_ba02803a86_c.jpg Framed, they become the perfect piece of home decor. The postcard size offers endless possibilities – use them as cards or as charming art pieces. We recommend purchasing a set for a curated collection! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54791102245_abb81a4ae9_c.jpg The SEA ice team proudly presents the hand-painted art of Korean artist Hyejin. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54790263806_4b1f2dab16_b.jpg There's a little story behind why we decided to represent this brand. Late 2024, just as we were preparing to fly to Korea for a meeting, a sudden lockdown was announced. It was lifted just before our flight, and after arriving safely in Korea, we found ourselves trapped in a subway car. Protesters kept flooding in, pushing us until we could barely breathe and were completely unable to move, almost floating. We kept thinking, "What do we do? Will this turn into a stampede?" We encouraged each other to stay calm, find ways to breathe, keep our heads up, and most importantly, stay on our feet and not fall. Thankfully, after a few stops, the dense crowd disembarked at Yeouido Station. We were shaken to tears. A few stops later, we left the subway and unexpectedly stumbled upon Hyejin's exhibition. The cats' languid and serene postures instantly calmed the turbulent storm we had just experienced. We, who were lost and frightened, felt as if we had firmly returned to solid ground. From the bottom of our hearts, we truly felt, "It's wonderful to have cats in this world." Hyejin's cat artworks are such treasures. And so, this unexpected partnership came to be. 🤍 https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5479025978_c361304614_c.jpg Hyejin's style blends modern aesthetics with traditional Korean techniques, developed through slow, deliberate creation and hand-painting. We absolutely adore the retro, nostalgic feel in her work, reminiscent of the folk painting scrolls from Korea's Joseon Dynasty. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54789923222_46ac7b4975_c.jpg Each stroke meticulously renders exquisite details, creating artworks that invite prolonged admiration. Creating art with traditional Korean techniques requires immense patience. The artist applies delicate layers of color until the piece achieves rich depth and saturated, profound hues. Even tiny butterflies and grasshoppers are rendered with such delicate soul. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5479008469_5cfdb8271f_c.jpg Each painting captures the cats' presence as they share our space. The cats' unhurried and quietly companionable demeanor is the message the artist wishes to convey. Hyejin frequently holds solo exhibitions in Korea and has been creating art for over a decade. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54791102340_09288edf64_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54789923372_b9e7b97b2c_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54789923357_30bd7feac8_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54789923327_ebb7b5d094_b.jpg Hyejin primarily uses her own cats as her muses, depicting them with mischievous yet sharp gazes – truly embodying the 'fiercely cute' and characterful spirit of cats. There's a captivating blend of contrast and harmony, a perfect fusion of tradition and modernity. Incorporating contemporary styles and characters, she portrays the lives and thoughts of animals within traditional art. She utilizes Hanji (Korean paper), a less common material, and the meticulous 'Gongbi' (fine-line painting) technique. This paper lends a warm, gentle tone to the overall palette, while the precise Gongbi lines add exquisite detail to the artworks. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5479008479_1a3b230ced_c.jpg This warm feeling, this wonderful combination, allows contemporary painting styles to integrate seamlessly.
