**(I) How to Use:**
(1) As a floral container: Placing a small flower pot in your room not only fills it with a fresh floral scent but also allows you to change the fragrance and visual appeal according to your mood.
Delicate flowers paired with an exquisite pot, basking in the sunlight, create a refined and elegant atmosphere, making you feel that today is beautiful!!
In ancient times, young ladies of esteemed families also enjoyed decorating their rooms with small flowers and plants. This practice is not merely a feminine pastime but a part of the aesthetic of a cultured and scholarly lifestyle.
(2) Independent decoration: The unique kiln body, shaped like a begonia, will naturally draw attention with its charm even when placed in a cabinet without any deliberate adornment. It elegantly decorates the space as if it were a piece of art, elevating the ambiance to a higher level.
(3) Brush washer use: Compared to common brush washers, this one is noticeably smaller. However, its compact size makes it space-saving. After a light rinse of your calligraphy brush, simply discard the water, clean the ink residue from the edges, and let it air dry. It's both convenient and aesthetically pleasing.
(4) Feng Shui application: While ancient ladies of good families habitually placed small flowers in their rooms, ancient Feng Shui masters also frequently used vases as part of formations or as Feng Shui artifacts.
**(5) Usage Precautions:**
A. It is recommended to use liquids between 0°C and 95°C to prevent damage or cracking of the glaze due to excessive heat or cold.
B. The ambient temperature should ideally be between 0°C and 95°C. Avoid extreme temperatures to prevent damage or cracking of the glaze.
C. If used as a flower vase, it is recommended to change the water regularly to prevent the inner wall from becoming stained by prolonged immersion in dirty water.
D. Avoid contact with acidic substances (such as lemon juice, carbonated drinks, or other beverages), as they can easily seep into the crackle glaze, potentially causing the Ru ware to lose its luster or corrode the glaze over time.
E. Avoid contact with oils, as they can penetrate the crackle glaze, preventing the fissures from "breathing" and potentially causing the Ru ware to lose its luster.
F. The unique crackle pattern of Ru ware tends to absorb color. If used as a brush washer, it is more likely to become stained. Customers who are concerned about this may consider using it for other purposes.
**(II) Product Cleaning and Maintenance:**
(1) After each use, rinse with warm water, dry with a soft cotton cloth, and place upside down in a well-ventilated area to air dry.
(2) If oil or tea stains are accidentally acquired, a paste made with a small amount of baking soda and water can be used to gently scrub the surface.
**(3) Cleaning Precautions:**
A. Please avoid using cleaning agents such as dish soap, as they may damage the Ru ware's texture, patterns, and produce odors that affect future use.
B. Ru ware is a delicate product. It is not recommended for use in dishwashers or drying machines.
C. Avoid boiling with hot water. Violent shaking and high temperatures can cause the glaze to chip or the vessel to crack.
D. Avoid scrubbing with hard materials such as steel wool to prevent scratching the surface of the tea ware.
**(III) Characteristics of Ru Ware:**
(1) The glaze color can change during the firing process due to kiln temperature variations, resulting in colors such as moon white, powder blue, and jade green. However, sky blue glaze is the most widely known and representative.
(2) Crackling (also known as crazing) is one of the core characteristics of Ru ware. It is primarily formed during the firing process due to differences in the expansion coefficients of the clay body and glaze, combined with precise control of kiln temperature, time, and sudden temperature changes, creating fine patterns that transform into natural beauty.
(3) Ru ware is ranked as the foremost among the Five Great Kilns of the Northern Song Dynasty. A characteristic feature is the use of "spur marks" (zhīdīng shāo), which not all ceramics employ. However, Northern Song kilns like Ru, Jun, Guan, and Ge all utilized spur firing. Therefore, seeing small holes such as 3, 5, or 6 on the bottom of the inverted kiln vessel is normal.
