Autumn-hued Teacup

Fine-grained white clay that brings out the vibrant colors of the glaze. After shaping into a rounded teacup, a lustrous white glaze was applied all over, and then colored with glazes in various shades inspired by autumn. During firing, the glazes melt and blend, creating flowing patterns. The plump and charming form fits comfortably in your hands, the curves of the vessel molding to your palms. The interior is primarily white, allowing you to enjoy the natural color of the beverage, whether it's sencha or hojicha. Beyond tea, consider using it for coffee, cafe au lait, soup, or even as a vessel for pudding or jelly. We hope you'll enjoy it with your favorite drink. All processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. While mass production is not possible, each piece has its own unique character, offering the distinct charm of handmade craftsmanship. The item you receive will be the one shown in the product images. The base of the cup has been sanded to minimize scratching your table. I continuously explore new combinations of various glazes and clays, creating pottery in diverse colors and shapes. Each piece is unique, seemingly similar but truly one-of-a-kind. Therefore, we apply a water-blocking treatment using a food-safe sealant before shipping, so there is no need for you to perform a preliminary soaking (mejime). This treatment requires 2-3 days, which is why we set the shipping period to 5 days from order placement. If you do not require the water-blocking treatment, please inform us at the time of purchase. - Due to the characteristics of the glaze colors, they may appear whiter under morning light or white fluorescent lamps, and exhibit more reddish or yellowish tones under evening light or warm-toned lighting. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - Product images are edited to be as true to the actual product as possible, but please be aware that colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions. - As this item is also sold on other platforms, in the rare event of overlapping purchases, the item will be delivered to the customer who completed the purchase first. We appreciate your understanding. - While it can be used in a microwave (for gentle warming) and dishwasher, the vibrations from microwaves and the high-pressure spray of hot water may accelerate deterioration.
