Artist's Introduction: Clay is the softest, most intimate memory deep within everyone's heart. It's a close friend, allowing us to shape it freely. With both parents being ceramic artists, growing up surrounded by clay in the studio felt entirely natural.
Tea culture is a significant aspect of Chinese heritage, but the demanding pace of modern life makes it challenging to savor its beauty. Many classical arts, like calligraphy and the art of ink, are gradually being forgotten or overlooked by younger generations. Yet, these are invaluable treasures unique to China. Our aesthetic education often favors Western styles, drawn to strong modern and fashionable forms and colors. I am particularly drawn to the freedom of ink; despite its monochrome palette, it can express a myriad of emotions through variations in density, depth, and the rhythm of lines. By merging Chinese tea culture with the art of ink, I aim to attract young people to explore these traditions in a way they find appealing and beautiful, demonstrating that they can indeed be fashionable activities.
