The works from Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio do not pursue mass production. Each creation possesses a unique concept and design, imbuing life into the pure hand-pinching or wheel-throwing process. Every piece is one-of-a-kind. Our studio's works are created together by our couple, hence the signatures "Ping" or "Fan." Some pieces may bear the "Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio" seal. Truly unique!!

**1. What is the origin of the works?**
We primarily use American clay, Japanese clay, and Taiwanese Miaoli clay for our creations.

**2. What is the wood firing process?**
American, Japanese, and Miaoli clays are blended in different proportions. The creation process involves pure hand-pinching (not a potter's wheel) to gradually form the shape, followed by trimming the lines of the body after basic shaping, and then polishing to complete the greenware.
Once in the kiln, the wood firing process using natural longan and acacia wood takes five days and four nights of continuous firing, reaching temperatures over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this process, natural ash deposits adhere to the work, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the kiln's flames flow between the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple flame patterns.
After five days and four nights of ash and flame interaction, a week of cooling is required before a piece achieves its beautiful form! Because the kiln atmosphere differs with each wood firing, the ash deposits and flame patterns on each piece are never the same, making every work unique!

**3. What should guests be aware of?**
Product colors may vary slightly due to photography lighting. As the works are purely handmade, they will inevitably bear traces of the hand-crafting process. Slight variations may also occur during the firing process, such as slightly uneven rims or minor production scratches, which are considered normal and do not affect usability. Your understanding is appreciated!
