Taiwan once had shrines
which became objects of worship for its people,
but they no longer exist today.
This commemorative item is specially created in their memory.
Kaohsiung Shrine
Originally known as Takao Kanpira Shrine,
it was established to serve the coastal community of Kaohsiung.
In 1932, it was designated as a Prefectural Shrine.
After the war, it was rebuilt as the Martyrs' Shrine.
What remains today are the reconstructed torii gate and guardian lions.
❈ This is the Prefectural Shrine upgraded edition.
❈ This is a replica goshuin of a vanished Taiwanese shrine.
It does not possess divine blessings or protective powers.
