This is an SDGs jewelry piece featuring kintsugi, upcycled from Arita ware. Broken or chipped ceramics that are no longer in use are repurposed and finished with kintsugi to create accessories. Our concept is to allow people to feel close to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future, creating new possibilities. We have paired elegant Japanese patterned ceramic fragments with turquoise and apatite. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the ceramic fragments, allowing the gold to stand out even from the side, creating a refined look. The included chain is an allergy-friendly surgical stainless steel chain with 18K coating, making it resistant to tarnishing and gentle on the skin. The chain length is 40cm + 5cm adjuster. This work uses a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Instead of traditional lacquer made from the sap of the lacquer tree, we use a new type of lacquer that is less likely to cause irritation, along with gold powder (brass powder).
