Handwoven Linen Stole [Ryufuu *10]
Material: 95% Linen, 5% Silk
Size: Approx. 28cm (40cm) x 175cm (excluding 6cm fringe)
This small stole is meticulously handwoven using the finest 120-count linen yarn, sourced from a Kyoto-based yarn wholesaler. The yarn, initially unbleached, is then dyed in various colors before being woven. Its sheer thinness and softly crinkled texture create a light, airy drape that gently embraces the body.
Warp threads were intentionally woven with tightly twisted silk yarn at regular intervals, creating vertical ridges. This technique allows for a more manageable, narrower width while adding a refined texture. The design features a lattice border using three shades of linen yarn, with the textural ridges enhancing a sense of depth and lending a cool, refreshing aesthetic.
The ultra-fine ramie linen yarn, half the thickness of standard handweaving yarn, is characterized by minimal fiber fuzz and a subtle sheen. With a total of 512 finely spaced warp threads, the stole possesses an exceptionally supple texture. Linen stoles offer superior moisture absorption, breathability, and quick-drying properties compared to cotton, ensuring a non-sticky, refreshingly smooth feel against the skin. This makes it a versatile piece suitable for spring, summer, and autumn wear.
