Double yarn large tea towel / Dugeng Teal
A tea towel inspired by life, the beauty queen of the wiping world.
The single-layer double-gauze design dries faster, and the larger area makes it easier to wipe. It has a single-sided printed design, while the back is solid color (white).
Whether you use it as a cloth to wipe your favorite tableware and cups, clean water stains on the kitchen sink, cover electrical appliances to prevent dust, or fold it and use it as an insulation pad for pots. It comes with a hanging cotton rope so you can hang it up to dry.
There is no need to specifically define this highly absorbent fabric; having it will naturally add a lot more fun and atmosphere to your life.
The inspiration for the simplified fabric patterns comes from the scenery of Taiwan's cities. Some scenes that we may not have noticed, such as the linear arrangement of tin houses or the mottled corners eroded by rain, are all sources of inspiration for the patterns.
Urban Renewal|Story of Cloth Flowers
Is updating a progress or a degeneration?
When introducing the stories of these cities to guests, I am most often asked if there is a fabric flower that represents Dihua Street. The first thing that comes to my mind is not the red brick walls or the northern and southern groceries, but the narrow arcades filled with food, Chinese medicinal materials, and the first-floor store with high-end Mercedes-Benz cars parked.
I have been here for many years, and there are some bygone scenes that I still can't forget, such as the earliest traditional food street on the fourth floor of Yongle Market, which can now only be seen in the movie Lucy.
Even though the newly rebuilt Western-style buildings are slowly growing new Acrylic signs, and the buildings are constantly being demolished for urban renewal, Dihua Street is actually a Cement world covered with red bricks. What we think of as tradition has actually been covered by Cement long ago, without a trace of it being concealed.
Every element in this fabric flower represents everything I have experienced here. The cross-shaped structure looks like a map, and it also symbolizes the old buildings that were demolished during the urban renewal and were replaced by steel structures that were quickly erected on the land.
There are always many bungalows being demolished here. Our view of Guanyin Mountain is gradually replaced by a T-shaped steel structure rising from the original site. The whole city is full of changes.
Sometimes this chessboard also feels like a map. When I wander around Yongle Market, I can never find the exit, even though I have been here for so many years.
