Fine-grained white earthenware that allows the glaze colors to truly shine. Molded into a plump, round, and generously sized bowl, it has been fired with a subtly off-white matte glaze. A touch of amber glaze accents the rim of the vessel. Its delightfully plump, rounded form feels cozy, and when cradled in both hands, its curves fit perfectly in the palm. Given its ample size, this vessel is recommended more for dishes than for drinks. Imagine it filled with hearty soups or chunky vegetable stews. It can also serve as a small rice bowl for dishes like donburi or even a light noodle serving. And for dessert, it’s perfect for anmitsu or other sweet treats. All processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously carried out by hand in our studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. The full, rounded silhouette, rustic texture, and satisfying weight evoke the authentic feel of pottery. While mass production is not possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, offering a charm that can only come from handmade craftsmanship. The item you receive will be the one pictured, and there are currently two pieces in stock. As each is subtly different in size and form, photographs of both pieces are included at the end of the product images. While stock lasts, you may select your preferred piece by indicating your preference at the time of purchase. (If no specific preference is noted, one will be chosen for you.) To minimize any potential scratching of your table surfaces, the base of the bowl has been smoothed with sandpaper before shipping. In some cases, colors may stain through crazing, or moisture may seep through. For this reason, we treat our tableware with a food-safe sealant to prevent water absorption before shipping, so no initial glazing (medome) is necessary. This sealing process requires 2-3 days, which is why our shipping timeframe is set at 5 days from order placement. If you do not wish for this sealant treatment, please inform us at the time of purchase. ・Cutlery shown in product images is not included. ・Due to the nature of glaze colors, the bowl may appear whiter under morning light or white fluorescent lamps, and may show more reddish or yellowish tones under evening light or warm-toned lighting. ・Product images are edited and photographed to be as true to the actual item as possible.
