~Kishu Fuku's Ume Honpo "Miyabun"~
We are a family-run plum shop in Wakayama Prefecture.
We make umeboshi plums that are full of natural minerals by pickling large Nanko plums grown in southern Kishu, the plum's hometown, with Kishu Binchotan charcoal and bakuhan Stone.
Southern Wakayama Prefecture, located in the central part of the Kii Peninsula, faces the Pacific Ocean, where the Kuroshio Current flows, and as a result of the influence of the sea, the region is warm and rainy throughout the year. However, the region is blessed with medium-temperature soil that is known for its good drainage.
Additionally, compared to other areas, the area has longer hours of sunlight, making it a natural environment well suited to growing plums.
There is a reason why plum trees produce such beautiful fruit.
