✨ A magnificent and rare snake-print design in a versatile deep grey and coffee hue, accented with vibrant red and blue embroidery threads. It's understated yet stylish and easy to pair. Highly recommended for those sensitive to cold or traveling to chilly destinations. It can double as a small blanket to protect your shoulders and neck from the cold, a timeless piece suitable for all ages.
While Kashmiri scarves from North India may appear visually striking at first glance with their paisley motifs, vibrant embroidery, or beadwork, they transform into a more understated accessory when draped. The patterns become subtle, leaving an impression of color blocks and fragmented beauty, with intricate details to be savored. We often showcase our scarves draped or rolled into a ball to help you visualize how they might look when worn.
🐑 Kashmiri boiled wool craftsmanship uses 100% wool and offers a certain degree of warmth. They are primarily categorized into three thicknesses: sheer weave (interwoven), three-layer weave, and regular boiled wool. The "sheer weave" is the lightest, suitable for all seasons – it can shield you from the sun in spring and summer, add a stylish touch, and is elegantly practical for Taiwan's winters. The "three-layer weave" is composed of three layers of wool yarn, creating a thicker center with light, flowing edges, resulting in a dreamy aesthetic. The thickness in the center is comparable to regular boiled wool, appearing sheer yet offering ample warmth, making it suitable for spring, autumn, and winter, instantly imparting a fresh, exotic charm. The "regular boiled wool" scarves are exceptionally thick and warm throughout, ideal for those who are very sensitive to cold during winter and cold snaps, feeling like a warm little sun. They also serve beautifully as a winter throw blanket on the sofa, and their vibrant colors are perfect for creating fashionable photos against snowy backdrops.
★ A warm scarf by your side, in the car, or at the office, provides warmth against the winter wind and coolness from air conditioning in the summer, making it a practical temperature regulator and an essential travel companion. This unique handmade shawl/scarf is not just about warmth; it ensures you are the most radiant star in every photo.
Kashmiri wool is a gift from nature, crafted with the master's meticulous hand and heartfelt intention.
The gentlest scarf, the warmest blessing.
Choose the most precious and warm gift for yourself and your loved ones.
Care and Maintenance Notes:
★ Each piece is a unique handmade wool artwork, with every item being one-of-a-kind.
★ Handmade wool products may exhibit slight imperfections characteristic of handcrafting, unlike machine-made items that are uniformly precise. Minor yarn shifts or slight variations in dye may occur. (If significant and clearly visible to the naked eye, we will note it specifically. If you are particularly concerned about the handmade aesthetic, please consider your purchase carefully. If you are new to handmade textiles, feel free to message us for details on specific items.)
★ Wool products should not be machine washed. Dry cleaning once per season is recommended. If hand washing is necessary, use a wool-specific detergent or shampoo, washing gently and separately. (Darker textiles may experience some color bleeding due to handmade dyeing.) After air-drying, you can iron at a low temperature with a towel placed underneath (avoid direct sunlight).
★ The items we select are of a delicate, artistic handmade quality, especially cashmere products, which require gentle handling. Fingernails, jewelry, hardware on bags, zippers, and Velcro on clothing can easily snag the yarn, so please handle with care. While cashmere is lighter and softer, wool products are generally more resistant to abrasion. We select virgin wool and lamb's wool or use boiled wool techniques, which are softer and more skin-friendly than regular wool. Our personal experience is that they do not cause noticeable itching. If you are particularly concerned about itching, we will indicate it, and you can message us for further inquiries.
★ An eco-friendly, minimalist kraft paper box is included for gift packaging, perfect for presenting to your dearest ones.
Xiannv Xing Xuan Wu - North Indian Kashmiri Wool Handmade Scarf/Shawl
Boiled Wool Scarf/
Due to the high altitude and lower boiling point of the Kashmir plateau, a unique boiled wool technique has developed. Repeated boiling and drying result in a fluffier, softer texture that is more skin-friendly than regular wool products. The layered yarn is thick and soft, providing excellent wind resistance. It's complemented by meticulously color-matched hand-embroidered yarn for exquisite detail. (Can be worn on both sides; one side features a different color or a lighter shade. The reverse side may have a few visible handmade yarn knots. Both sides can be worn if you don't mind.)
Traditional Kani Weave/
Kani is a classical Indian weaving art (not printing). Traditionally, intricate natural motifs like vines, flowers, paisley, and maple leaves were handwoven thread by thread using wooden shuttles. Creating one piece could take months. More common today is machine weaving, which requires time-consuming hand-trimming of the weft threads on the reverse, resembling Impressionist paintings. Some people also enjoy wearing the reverse side.
Hand Embroidery/
The embroidery threads along the entire shawl are meticulously hand-stitched one by one. Unlike machine embroidery, they are not perfectly aligned or flat, but possess the charm of fine handcraftsmanship. Filled with exquisite and delicate details, featuring vibrant vines or the paisley motif symbolizing eternity and royalty, it evokes a romantic Bohemian garden feel.
Kalenkali Hand-Dyed Embroidery/
India's renowned dyeing techniques are combined with hand embroidery. The beautiful and intricate dyed patterns on the entire shawl are then outlined with embroidery threads in various colors. The piano-style border at the bottom, similar to the Kani weave, adds to the charm. Experience the richness of two traditional crafts, brimming with detail and worthy of collection.
