Brass Care Instructions: Brass has always been a highly popular material for jewelry, offering an accessible price point and resistance to fading. However, like silver, brass can oxidize. Exposure to rain, sweat, and air can deepen its color. While some appreciate the natural patina this creates, here are some tips to maintain its original luster: ♦ Avoid contact with water. ♦ Store in a resealable bag when not being worn. If the luster appears to dim, here are a few simple methods to restore your item's original radiance. Please note that while color can be revived after scratches, the original shine may not be fully restored (though the matte, antique bronze look is also beautiful!). ♦ Gently scrub with a toothbrush dipped in a foaming toothpaste or tooth powder, similar to brushing teeth. This can help restore brass's luster. Ensure to dry thoroughly afterward. ♦ Use a silver polishing cloth for a quick shine (not suitable for brushed finishes). ♦ Dilute lemon juice and soak the brass accessory for about 5 minutes to quickly restore its shine (not suitable for natural beads like pearls that are sensitive to acid).
