The nib is a specially tuned calligraphy titanium nib (EF ground and adjusted) by Old Mountain Goat. This nib was custom-made by the German manufacturer at Old Mountain Goat's request, model #250 (#6). It has been expertly hand-ground and adjusted by Old Mountain Goat artisans to create a calligraphy nib capable of producing varying line widths, evoking the charm of traditional brush writing. It offers greater flexibility than standard calligraphy titanium nibs, allowing for a richer range of strokes. The nib is engraved with the distinctive 3952 Yushan logo, making it a treasured collectible. The calligraphy nib is an EF nib ground and adjusted to have a curved tip that produces line width variations not solely through pressure, but through the angle of the pen. The soft and flexible nature of this specially tuned nib can easily tempt users to apply pressure. If the user's technique is not refined or they are unfamiliar with the tuned nib's characteristics, it can lead to temporary separation between the nib and the feed, disrupting ink flow and causing skipping. If the user's writing angle is off and they apply pressure, it can distort the ink channel, hindering smooth ink delivery. Therefore, this nib is more flexible and less manageable. It is recommended to gain proficiency with steel nibs or standard titanium nibs before attempting this specially tuned nib as an advanced option.
