His courtesy name was Fengchi. He excelled at portraiture and was also skilled in sketching, with his landscapes and figure paintings reaching great heights. He served in the imperial court during the Xianfeng and Tongzhi reigns, and Empress Dowager Cixi bestowed upon him a royal plaque praising his "divine skill in capturing likeness." The scene depicts a garden where peach blossoms and bamboo intertwine, with fragrant grass flourishing below.
