After the ceramicist controls the fundamental parameters, the growth of the crystal formations on each piece is inherently unpredictable, showcasing a beauty bestowed by nature. The dazzling crystalline glaze is a mastery only achieved by Master Yeh, who has dedicated decades to the study of glazes. From the intricate details of the textures to the overall ambiance of the vessel, it requires a precise understanding of the interplay between fire, clay, and glaze to fire such an exquisite crystalline teacup. Crystalline glazes vary widely in color, presenting novel and beautiful patterns with crystal flowers that can be large or small. They can be categorized in numerous ways, including dot-like, chrysanthemum-shaped, radial, splash-like, star-shaped, needle-like, and feathery, among countless others. Vessels with crystalline glazes have long been sought after by scholars and literati. In ancient times, due to many uncontrollable factors, generations of potters toiled and exhausted their efforts, all in pursuit of firing a single perfect piece of crystalline glazed ware. Today, with the advancement of technology, many variables during crystalline firing can be controlled. Nevertheless, this type of work remains extremely challenging and difficult to master. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this piece is also designed for usability.
