Manual Grinding and Adjustment of Calligraphy Nib:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is recommended to initially dip the nib in ink for writing (do not remove the converter installed in the pen barrel to prevent ink from flowing back into the pen body after writing). This allows the nib to break in and adapt to its unique characteristics. After some use, then use the converter to fill with ink and write.
2. The calligraphy nib is ground and adjusted from an EF nib into a curved tip that creates line variation not solely by pressure, but by the angle of the pen. When holding the pen upright, the contact area between the nib and the paper is small, resulting in a fine line. As the pen is held at a more oblique angle or with slight pressure, the contact area between the nib and paper increases, producing a broader line. Achieving varying line widths depends on your dexterity. (Each nib has a certain tolerance for pressure; avoid excessive force to prevent nib damage or misalignment. It is advisable to place a writing pad under the paper while writing.)
In response to environmental protection, we do not proactively provide paper bags. If you require one for gifting, please specify this in the order notes after placing your order. Thank you.
Images are for reference only. This product is for a single pen. Some photos may have slight color variations due to lighting and angles; the actual product prevails.
Note: For maintenance, frequently wipe the inside of the pen body and cap. When storing, do not leave the nib pointing downwards for extended periods.
Gentle Reminder: Avoid pressing down on the nib or writing with the nib angled excessively to the left or right (for right-handed users, it is recommended to hold the pen so the nib points towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position) to prevent accidental misalignment of the iridium tip, which can cause scratching or ink flow issues. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink build-up and blockage, which can affect writing quality.
