When not wearing the jewelry, wipe it with a soft cloth, keep it dry, and store it sealed in a zip-lock bag. ▴ Brass is not plated and will not fade. It can come into contact with water, but it is best to keep it dry as much as possible to slow down oxidation. The color will change from bright gold to a antique coppery brown. ▴ Lightly oxidized brass can be gently brushed with toothpaste and water, or polished with a brass polishing cloth. For severe oxidation, you can purchase brass polish from a hardware store and apply a small amount to a cloth for polishing.
