This is an SDGs jewelry piece featuring Kintsugi, upcycled from pottery by Fukuikama, a Kyoto-based studio renowned for its Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki ceramics. We give new life to broken or chipped ceramic pieces, repurposing them into accessories adorned with the art of Kintsugi. Our concept is to bring the beauty of nature and Japan's enduring traditions closer to you, transforming them into modern accessories that bridge the past and future, opening up new possibilities. Delicate ceramic fragments, hand-painted with elegant designs, are complemented by freshwater pearls. The sides of the pottery pieces are accented with Kintsugi, allowing the gleam of gold to catch the eye from every angle, adding a touch of refined sophistication. These pieces are perfect as a unique accent for both casual and elegant outfits. This work uses a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional Kintsugi that uses natural lacquer from the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for bonding.
