Although it has the roughness typical of pottery, the soft, rounded shape has a certain gentleness to it. The earthy color and texture make the rice look even more delicious. I use a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel at home to make my pottery, and I do all of the processes by hand, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing. Although we cannot mass-produce them, each one has its own unique character and you can enjoy the flavor that comes from being made by hand.
