|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"Nurture jade for three years, and jade will nurture you for a lifetime."
Crystals possess a powerful magnetic field that requires regular demagnetization. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, has a gentle and soft nature. While its magnetic field may not be as strong as a crystal's, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally clean and pure, bringing only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI[Si2 O6], often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains more than 2% chromium.
Green: Contains more than 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer than other colors.
"Calcium" (Ca), a trace element, is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily found in bones and teeth, with presence in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of human life activities, playing crucial physiological roles at every stage of growth and development, from childhood to adulthood and old age. It is an indispensable macronutrient essential for human health and longevity.
"Chromium" (Cr), a trace element, is crucial for maintaining normal physiological functions. It can prevent cardiovascular diseases and help regulate blood sugar. The human body cannot synthesize it and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. Chromium can increase insulin sensitivity in individuals with type 2 diabetes, aid in controlling cholesterol and blood sugar for those who are overweight, and its loss is accelerated in individuals experiencing high stress. Therefore, these three groups have a particular need for chromium.
"Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. The average adult body contains approximately 6–10 mg of nickel, primarily concentrated in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, and unabsorbed nickel is largely excreted in feces. Only 10–20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
"Manganese" (Mn), a trace element, acts as a protector for the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
"Magnesium" (Mg) is another macronutrient essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is a necessary nutrient for normal bone growth. Adequate magnesium levels effectively regulate calcium and maintain normal nerve and muscle function, with both elements having a synergistic effect. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation and is associated with the onset of various chronic diseases, particularly increasing mortality rates from cardiovascular diseases. Studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, which has relatively higher levels of calcium and magnesium, have lower mortality rates from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
"Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements" for the human body. The average adult body contains 3–5 grams of iron, with sixty to seventy percent distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron's assistance to function properly.
Medical research indicates that jadeite possesses powerful therapeutic properties. Long-term wear of jadeite can not only prevent diseases but also alleviate or even treat certain ailments.
Treating Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions occasionally experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help treat common chest tightness. The jadeite pendant emits energy into the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest, which, through continuous massage, can achieve a complete resolution.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have the effects of "clearing middle-jiao heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair, nourishing the five zang organs, calming the spirit and soul, promoting blood circulation, and sharpening the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows the trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordination and balance of physiological functions of the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite accessories, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite then enter the body, nourishing the skin and making women appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling Relief: The naturally cool property of jadeite provides a therapeutic and cooling sensation. During the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Yang Guifei would place jade in her mouth to relieve summer heat. Since then, summer has been associated with coolness. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are used to provide relief from the heat.
The above are evidence-based reasons for appreciating jadeite. Another, less tangible reason, is its purported ability to provide inexplicable comfort and solace, seemingly offering solace when one is feeling down or stressed.
