It is said that wearing a fox mask originated from ancient beliefs that foxes could bestow supernatural powers upon those they possessed, and people wore them to receive such abilities. Additionally, because foxes are known for preying on mice, farmers revered them for their role in pest control. Another theory suggests that the belief in foxes stems from the worship of the god of food, known as "Miketsukami," which later evolved into fox veneration. Foxes are particularly revered as a divine being by farmers and those involved in food-related businesses, promising prosperity. Instead of a smooth, polished "mirror finish," this piece has been crafted using a sandblasting technique. Glass beads are blown onto the surface, creating a textured and nuanced finish.
