**High Mountain Tea Seeds × Century-Old Mill: A Bottle Capturing the Essence of Taiwan's Mother River**
__From the source of the Zhuoshui River to its mouth as it flows into the Taiwan Strait—a journey of 186.6 kilometers, all within this bottle of oil.__
Five million years ago, the Philippine Sea Plate pressed against the Eurasian continent, giving rise to the Central Mountain Range. The ancestors of the Seediq people have lived and thrived in the embrace of these mountains for generations. The tea seeds for "Balai Oil Hao" camellia oil come from these highlands in the Qingliu community, Seediq territory, at an altitude of 800 meters, where the fruits slowly ripen and fill with oil in the cool mountain air.
The Zhuoshui River, Taiwan's longest river, irrigates over half of the island's food production and is revered as "Taiwan's Mother River." This river originates within the traditional territories of the Seediq people in Ren'ai Township; it flows through Nantou, Yunlin, Changhua, and Chiayi, spanning 186.6 kilometers, before finally merging with the Taiwan Strait between Changhua and Yunlin. It is this estuary that has formed the Fangyuan intertidal zone, nurturing seventy percent of Taiwan's fiddler crabs.

Beside this very intertidal zone stands "Oil Seed Academy," an oil mill with nearly a century of history, quietly preserving the art of traditional pressing.
When the high mountain tea seeds arrive in Fangyuan from the Qingliu community, "Balai Oil Hao" is born—a camellia oil nurtured by Taiwan's Mother River, a blend of the highlands and the sea.
This camellia oil, jointly developed by the Taiwan Ecological Food Design Center, is produced in limited batches. With a hope that the story of this river will grace every dining table, quantities are scarce.
