Artist Introduction: Artist: Master Yu Hua-Yu Born in 1980, he was captivated by the mysterious art of the potter's wheel during his middle school years, an experience that remained unforgettable. After completing his military service, he moved to Yingge alone and apprenticed under Masters Wu Guo-Rong and Wu Jian-Cai, laying a solid foundation in wheel throwing and firing techniques. After establishing his studio, he dedicated himself to meticulous research and development. During this period, he received accolades such as the Gold Award for Cultural and Creative Products at the Taiwan Golden Teapot Award Ceramic Design Competition and an Award of Excellence from the Tainan Taiwan Craft and Cultural Promotion Association. He is currently a contemporary young Taiwanese ceramic artist. Master Yu Hua-Yu has spent over twenty years mastering the properties of various clays, integrating his unique creativity, and blending tradition with modernity to develop his Shino series with iridescent effects, the rock mineral series, and the purple clay cloud and smoke series of ceramic works. During this time, Master Yu also successfully recreated the celadon firing techniques of the Song Dynasty! His cracked glaze series imitates the wood-firing techniques of the Song Dynasty, firing continuously for 5 days and 4 nights at temperatures above 1260 degrees Celsius. After turning to ash, the natural ash fall creates the "cracked glaze" Song Dynasty celadon, which is astonishing.
