He studied architecture at the Rheinisch Westfälisch Technische Hochschule in Aachen, then pursued furniture design at the Royal College of Art in London. Today, he also holds a professorship at the University of Applied Sciences for Fine Arts Hamburg. After spending time in London, he shifted his design aesthetic towards furniture and industrial design, creating numerous award-winning works. His perspective on space and architecture logically led him from large-scale to small-scale design.
