The Buddha knows that they do not have joy or sorrow in their hearts. They only always live in mindfulness and wisdom, and the mind and ground are as unmoving as this. This is the third mindfulness. The three thoughts of great compassion of the great sage Buddha are a bright mirror and the manifestation of nirvana and liberation (vimoksa in Sanskrit). Three eyes: In Hinduism and Buddhism, the third eye symbolizes enlightenment (see Moksha and Nirvana). In Indian tradition, the third eye is called the "eye of wisdom" (gyananakashu) and is the seat of the "hidden teacher" (antar-guru). The Upanishads state that human beings are like a city with ten gates. The nine doors (eyes, nostrils, ears, mouth, urethra and anus) lead to the external sensory world.
