Mingya Kiln | Wood Fired

Product Description

BARDUR Ceramics Studio | Gift Box Series Now Available Capture the essence of time with the warmth of handmade craftsmanship. Each teacup is fired individually by artisans, with textures like falling stardust – no two are exactly alike. The design, featuring a satin lining and a square gift box, adds an elegant touch to the ceramic's natural texture. This gifting season, choose a gift with warmth, let the feel of the piece become part of your sentiment. 🫖 The BARDUR Gift Box Series is officially launched. About Wood Firing 'Wood firing' is a traditional kiln method, reaching temperatures over 1200 degrees Celsius using firewood. It leaves natural 'fire marks' from the direct contact with wood fire, and the ash that falls during combustion creates warm, richly varied colors on the pieces – a realm unattainable by electric or gas kilns. Compared to standard electric or gas kilns, the entire wood firing process, from stacking the kiln, ignition, sealing, to cooling, takes approximately 8-10 days. Furthermore, the intense kiln pressure, along with factors like humidity, wood dryness, the speed of stoking, and kiln placement, can all influence the success or failure of a piece, leading to a higher damage rate. Experienced wood-firing artisans meticulously consider the kiln's airflow when stacking, planning the placement of pieces of varying sizes, estimating the upward path of the flames, the timing and type of wood and charcoal to add, and the precise heat control. Every step requires utmost focus to achieve a perfect wood-fired piece. Place of Origin: Hualien, Taiwan Notes 1. All pieces are handmade; textures and colors may vary. Computer screen displays may also differ. 2. Uneven surfaces, micro-bubbles, variations in glaze color, and crackled textures are normal characteristics of handmade items and not defects. 3. Each piece is stamped with the Mingya Kiln seal or hand-carved by the artist (Mr. Cai Rongzong, Ms. Zhong Xinhui). 4. Before first use, please wash with a sponge, mild detergent, and water. Do not heat directly over an open flame, and avoid drastic temperature changes. Suitable for microwave, oven, and electric cooker. 5. All pieces are photographed in kind. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via private message, and we will reply as soon as possible!! 6.
