A Century-Old Pastry Shop - Taichung Li Ji
The founder, Zhang Linli, initially ran a general store and also learned the art of pastry making. During his culinary endeavors, he stumbled upon a method for preparing bean paste.
He dedicated himself to research, transforming mung beans into a paste for Mid-Autumn mooncakes. Established in 1894, the Jiawu year, in Shekou. The local scholar Lin Jinshi named the shop "Li Ji," which quickly gained renown.
The fourth-generation successor, Zhang Shiming, who originally studied medicine to serve the public, took over the family business. To promote the brand legacy left by his ancestors, he actively expanded the brand into department stores, online platforms, and physical retail. He also introduced international quality management certifications, preserving the most exquisite "traditional flavor" while continuously innovating. This dedication has led more gourmands to favor "Taichung Li Ji."
For over a century, "Taichung Li Ji Pastry Shop" has been rooted in heritage, re-emphasizing the importance of "adhering to ancient methods" for traditional pastries, creating delectable Chinese handmade pastries that resonate with the modern era.
Looking back, generations have come and gone. The accumulation of efforts and the unwavering commitment have nurtured "Taichung Li Ji" as it moves forward, embarking on its next century.
