925 Sterling Silver
Ammonite is an ancient marine creature's fossil, having lived in oceans approximately 65 million to 340 million years ago. It was formed through 70 million years of geological transformation (classified as an organic gemstone alongside pearls and amber).
In 1908, a member of a Canadian geological survey team first discovered the existence of mineralized ammonite fossils in Alberta.
In 1962, jewelry made with ammonite was exhibited at the Nanton Gem Show, marking the first recorded instance of ammonite being used in jewelry, thus entering the realm of fine gems.
In 1967, Ammonite was first introduced and promoted as a specific name. Prior to this, it was known as "Calcentine" and "Korite."
In 1981, the International Colored Gemstone Association officially recognized Ammonite as a gemstone, one of the three significant new gem discoveries worldwide.
Ammonite is scattered across the globe, with southern Canada and Montana in the United States being its primary sources. Only the finest ammonites from southern Alberta, Canada, are considered gemstones. It is also Canada's national gemstone.

Ammonite Treatment
Casting Resin
After carefully removing the colorless parts of freshly unearthed ammonite, resin is applied. This method preserves the stone's original shape, often resulting in products with unique, irregular contours.

| Care and Maintenance |
- Wipe clean after wearing and store in a pouch or box to prevent oxidation.
- Perfume can cause sterling silver to tarnish. Wait a few minutes after applying perfume before wearing jewelry.
- Avoid wearing jewelry in swimming pools or hot springs, as sulfur and disinfectant components can cause silver to discolor.
- Over time, sterling silver may oxidize. You can gently polish it with a silver polishing cloth or even a small amount of toothpaste at home.
