[Book Description]
This is a revised edition, featuring a new chapter on "Writing Fundamentals."
Author Chow Suk Ping began teaching online writing classes last year. She discovered that even without face-to-face instruction, students could grasp concepts and produce good writing through clear, practical guidance. She has selected some of these lessons to compile into this book, hoping to assist even more students.
The book covers various writing genres, including narrative essays, descriptive essays (character, scenery, and scene description), expository essays, argumentative essays, story continuation, and book reviews. Each chapter begins with an introduction to common methods for different text types, along with examples. It also provides a suitable selection of idioms and vocabulary for students to reference and use. Each lesson is followed by student essays as examples.
This book is suitable for upper primary to junior secondary students. Five of the lessons include example videos from the author's online writing classes, which students, teachers, and parents are welcome to view.
