This is a rounded, gently shaped ball-shaped teapot with beautiful, fine crazing.
It is ideal as a pouring vessel for two or three people, and can be used to enjoy not only Japanese tea, but also black tea, Chinese tea, and other delicious drinks.
Each part of this teapot is shaped on a potter's wheel, carefully carved using the thin-cutting technique learned in Kiyomizu, Kyoto, to create a beautiful white color, and finished with a glaze. The inside is also glazed, and the tea strainer hole is carefully drilled with fine holes. It is light, easy to pour, and has excellent water flow. The lid is also well-fitted and fits perfectly.
It takes time to complete the entire process from making the pottery to finishing.
This piece was created using the experience of the master of Ogawa-ryu Sencha tea ceremony, and would make a great gift for tea lovers. You can enjoy watching the beautiful crazing increase as you use it.
