We received feedback from a customer who enjoyed wearing two "Rose Brooches" in different colors as a corsage. This inspired us to wonder if a larger size, beautiful enough to stand out on its own, would be wonderful too! So, we decided to create one. What flower is larger than a rose? Perhaps a peony...? And so, we've named this piece "Peony." While "corsage" refers to a brooch-like item with a floral motif, we deliberately avoided using the term "corsage" for the "Rose Brooch" due to its smaller size. Now that this piece is comparable in size to typical fabric flower corsages, we're excited to officially call it a corsage. We've photographed it placed on a tray roughly the size of an adult woman's hand, so please refer to this for an idea of the scale. Like the "Rose Brooch," the petals are made from acrylic resin, chosen for its transparency and ability to hold a firm shape. Each petal is meticulously sewn onto felt to form the flower. Although it appears full and voluminous, it is surprisingly lightweight, especially considering it's made with beads! Compared to typical silk corsages, the advantage of this material is that it requires less care in handling and storage. Some might worry that a felt base could be flimsy and lack structure. Rest assured, this brooch has a core sandwiched between the felt with the petals sewn on and the felt with the brooch pin attached. The core material itself is also chosen for its lightness. To ensure peace of mind, we are including a silicone brooch stopper with your purchase. The 5th image shows the corsage alongside a person, depicted at approximately life-size. Attaching the "Peony Corsage" slightly behind the ear (as shown in images 6-8) creates a well-balanced and elegant impression. Other color variations are also available, so please take a look! Due to material sourcing, the color has shifted to a more bluish pink than before. If the previous pink resembled rose quartz, this new shade is more akin to kunzite.
