37 pieces in 150 minutes!? <Grand Prize Winner!> 10th Japan Society of Kansei Engineering "Kawaii Kansei Design Award" The Obake Puzzle is a high-difficulty puzzle series shaped like cute little ghosts, with no front or back sides. Since 2016, about 10 different types of Obake Puzzles have been released. Recreating a “no-front-and-back” structure with paper is actually very challenging, so we developed a special manufacturing method. ＜Obake Puzzle SHIRO＞ The very first paper-based Obake Puzzle! Although it’s made of paper, the material is as solid as those used for board game pieces, with a smooth texture. SHIRO has a soft fabric-like white finish. It looks like a ghost wearing a sheet—adorably spooky! ＜Super Difficult＞ Only 37 pieces, but in prototype tests, challengers took an average of 2.5 hours! The difficulty is ghost-level! ＜Secret of the Difficulty 1＞ The ghost shapes are cleverly designed—many ghost heads and bodies share the same form, making it tricky! ＜Secret of the Difficulty 2＞ A completely new method was used to create pieces with no distinction between front and back. The Obake Puzzle team collaborated with Ikeda Paper Industries in Kumamoto. Despite their initial reaction—“This is so difficult to make!”—they succeeded! By cutting from both sides, the front and back became completely indistinguishable.
