*We are offering this item at a special sale price as part of our inventory clearance. We hope you will consider it during this opportunity.
This pottery clay is made from a unique blend of white and red clays of varying textures, kneaded together in a special mix that can only be achieved at this particular time.
It offers a softer hue than red clay alone, and a warmth that feels more earthy than white clay alone.
This clay has been molded into a plump, teardrop-shaped bowl and fired not in our usual home electric kiln, but in the kerosene kiln of a kiln we are currently working with.
It has been fired using a reduction firing method, which creates an oxygen-deficient environment inside the kiln during firing, resulting in a profound character that cannot be achieved with an electric kiln.
The depth of this vessel makes it suitable not only as a serving bowl but also for dishes like donburi or noodles.
The soft gradient from a warm scarlet to white, unique to this glaze, is exceptionally elegant and beautiful, harmonizing wonderfully with a variety of ingredients.
Please enjoy the slightly irregular, teardrop shape as a subtle accent on your dining table.
All stages of production, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously done by hand in our studio, which is equipped with a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel.
While it has a slight heft, this contributes to its authentic ceramic feel.
Although mass production is not possible, each piece has its own unique expression, and we hope you will appreciate the charm that comes from being handmade.
The item you receive will be the same as pictured.
The surface that contacts the table will be sanded smooth before delivery.
We are constantly exploring new combinations of glazes and clays, creating a variety of ceramics in different colors and shapes.
Each piece is unique, appearing similar but truly one-of-a-kind.
We would be delighted if you find a piece that you love.
We hope you will enjoy the cozy atmosphere created by the pottery clay and glaze as a touch of color in your daily life.

*Notes on Purchase and Use*
- Due to the porous nature of ceramics, colors may seep into crazing or moisture may appear to seep through over time.
To prevent this, we treat all our tableware with a water-blocking agent before shipping, so there is no need for an initial soaking (mezome).
This water-blocking treatment takes 2-3 days, which is why we set the shipping period to 5 days from order placement.
If you do not require the water-blocking treatment, please let us know at the time of purchase.
- We strive to capture and edit product images to be as true to the actual item as possible. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions. Please understand this in advance.
- As this item is also sold on other platforms, in the event of overlapping purchases, priority will be given to the customer who completes the purchase process first. We appreciate your understanding.
- While microwave (for reheating) and dishwasher use is possible, the vibrations from microwaves and the high-pressure spray of hot water may accelerate deterioration. We recommend avoiding their use whenever possible.
- Please refrain from using the item in an oven or over an open flame.
- After use, to prevent stains and mold, please wash thoroughly, dry completely, and then store in your cupboard or other storage.
