The Taiwania Sequoia lightbox, which was so popular, is now available as a paper print! This artwork holds significant importance for Taiwan. It was captured by the Australian tree photography team, The Tree Projects, deep within the Qilan Mountain in Yilan. The shooting process was incredibly challenging, requiring a tree climbing expert to ascend over 70 meters into the dense forest. A cable system was then set up to suspend the camera, capturing images at one-meter intervals before being meticulously stitched together to reveal the full majesty of the Taiwania Sequoia.
.
We utilize EPSON's Giclée printing system with Ilford Gold Fibre Silk, a 310 gsm acid-free cotton paper. The combination of acid-free paper and highly light-resistant inks ensures the artwork can be preserved for over 50 years, creating a museum-quality photographic output.
.
Additionally, you can opt for our specially selected Black Walnut aluminum frame. It is lightweight yet sturdy, with a natural wood texture that complements the artwork beautifully. The frame includes a hanging hook, adjustable with a flat-head screwdriver.
🌲 About "The Tree That Bumped the Moon"
"The Taiwania Sequoia has existed on Earth for over a hundred million years, earning the title 'living fossil.' Its genus name, 'Taiwania,' is the only plant genus globally named after 'Taiwan.' Within the Qilan Mountain region, Taiwania trees are sparsely distributed. As one of the tallest tree species in East Asia, the indigenous Rukai people refer to it as 'the tree that bumped the moon,' and only a select few have ever witnessed its complete form."
"In the Qilan Mountain area of Yilan County, Taiwan, along Forest Road 170 at the 10-kilometer mark, stand three colossal Taiwania Sequoias growing side-by-side, known as the 'Three Sisters.' An Australian team collaborated with Taiwanese tree conservationists to capture their life-size portraits, resulting in breathtaking images. The Australian photographer remarked, 'Taiwanese people should truly be proud to possess this forest.'" — C.J. News Network
