The inlay technique is inspired by early church mosaic glass, later refined by Italian artists. By harnessing the properties of copper and tin, glass can be joined in various forms.
The creation process for our vases:
After cutting the glass, each edge is wrapped in copper foil before being soldered with tin. This tin joining method ensures the container's sturdiness. Each joint is meticulously filled to achieve a smooth, rounded finish. An oxidizing agent is then applied to speed up the tin's oxidation, turning the edges black for a dimensional and refined look.
