The Graduated Coffee Mug is one of several products designed as a collaboration between MoMA and the School of Visual Arts' MFA Design Products program. It is playful, decorative, and functional. The cup features capacity markings for espresso, macchiato, cortado, café au vin, americano, flat white and cappuccino. “One of my favourite quotes is from the late British magician SH Sharpe: ‘Magicians should sharpen one’s sensitivity to the miraculous,’” says Corn, who has a background in performing magic. “I realised I could bring that element of wonder into my design work, too. Multi-ccino is the result of exploring my own curiosity about people’s coffee preferences – I’ve always been amazed at how many coffee drinks there are on café menus. From there I realised it would be fun to put all the types of coffee in one cup.”
