She holds dual master's degrees, first in visual communication from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China, and later in environmental art from Aalto University in Finland. It was in Finland that she began to create artwork, starting with small visual diaries that expressed those indescribable thoughts, emotions and energies. "Art makes me happy, and I can see that I can share that happiness with others - which makes it even better." During his years of working as an artist, Zhai Wensi has worked in graphic design, visual arts, book design, as well as editorial, packaging and advertising illustrations. In 2018, she co-founded the Shanghai Children's Picture Book Research Center and has held exhibitions in the UK, Germany, Japan, Estonia, Finland and China, both as a curator and participating in exhibitions.
