◎ Name: "Enchanted Leaves Series" – Monstera Bookmark
◎ Material: Red Copper, Natural Cashew Lacquer
◎ Size:
◎ Artist: Xiao-Shan Huang
◎ Creative Concept:
The "Enchanted Leaves Series" draws inspiration from nature, using various leaves as its muse. Each vein is meticulously hand-hammered, imbuing the metal with intricate texture. Subsequently, in a dust-free environment, natural cashew lacquer is applied. With only one coat per day, and waiting until the next day for complete drying before applying the next, this process is repeated over 5 times. This results in 5-6 working days dedicated to this complex and time-consuming craft.
Through these creations, the artist hopes to encourage everyone to observe their surroundings with greater intention. Even humble roadside flowers, small grasses, or fallen leaves are expressions of life, either silent or vocal. The enduring nature of red copper is used to preserve the ephemeral form of leaves, symbolizing the idea that while the physical form may fade, the spirit and essence endure eternally.
★ Monstera Flower Language: Health and Longevity, Good Fortune and Auspiciousness, Attracting Wealth, Abundant Prosperity, Positive and Optimistic Outlook.
