This is a piece that allows you to enjoy the rustic warmth and texture of the earth. This pouring vessel is carefully made on a potter's wheel using coarse Shigaraki clay that contains feldspar. The scarlet color that is characteristic of Shigaraki ware is brought out in a gas kiln. The high temperature of the firing process causes the coarse Stone in the clay to melt and come to the surface. After firing, the Stone on the surface are polished one by one by hand with a whetstone to finish the vessel. The lids are carefully fitted for each piece, so they fit perfectly and have excellent water drainage. This pouring vessel is extremely difficult and time-consuming to make, so only a few can be produced as works of art. The handle is integrated into the design of the vessel, so care must be taken when handling it, but it is a work that can be enjoyed as the vessel becomes more familiar to the user over time.
