Distinct from Japanese and South Sea pearls, they are exceptionally precious, earning them the reputation of "Queen of Pearls" and "Pearl of Queens." Cultivating Tahitian black pearls is challenging; the process of nurturing pearl oysters is lengthy and prone to mortality. Coupled with factors like weather and water quality, finished products are exceedingly rare. In the South Pacific, between Australia and South America, lies a chain of coral islands. This region is abundant with "black-lipped" pearl oysters, mollusks that secrete layers of gray and black nacre. Legend has it that Oro, the god of peace and fertility, descended to the mortal realm on a rainbow and presented the Te Ufi pearl oyster to humankind. Another legend tells of Oro gifting the pearl from the oyster to the beautiful princess Bora Bora as a symbol of his love. Yet another story claims that the coral spirit Okana and the sand god Uaro draped the Te Ufi pearl oyster in a brocade robe, allowing it to shimmer with the colors of the myriad fish in the Polynesian waters. Miss Shiori has selected 12 Tahitian black pearls, each with a diameter of 9.5-10.5mm, complemented by S925 silver 14K gold vermeil findings. They are strung in a color-blocking sequence to create a strand approximately 52cm in length when straightened, suitable for wear as a necklace or as a triple-wrap bracelet. The Tahitian black pearls boast a fine luster and a spectrum of colors, including peacock green, peacock blue, platinum gray, mysterious purple, and iridescent hues. Their rarity and mystique evoke awe at the power of nature and the radiance of the heavens. Miss Shiori has paired them with a minimalist S925 silver 14K gold vermeil lantern clasp, adding a touch of dignified nobility while ensuring comfort. Although each pearl may have slight imperfections such as soft indentations, these do not detract from their overall beauty and are imperceptible at a social distance.
