Vintage Dutch partly-handpainted ceramic "jenever" jug with ceramic and cork top.
Jenever is known as Dutch gin. It is malted grain-based spirit that can only be made in Holland or Belgium and contains juniper ("genever" in old Dutch). Bols established its first distillery at 'T Lootsje, Amsterdam in 1575 and it is now the most famous producer of jenever in the world.
This jug is in undamaged good condition. There is some fine craquelure due to aging as well as possible small surface marks and discoloration due to usage. The photographs are apart of the description.
