One day, a friend asked, "What's your handmade book's style?" I replied, "Each one is different!" But we only incorporate leather, and the more raw and natural the leather, the more we love it. We don't over-process it. Design flows naturally and freely with the unique edges of each piece of leather. So, I don't have a specific style... In that moment, the words "no specific style" and "non-style" came to mind, becoming our brand name. And the English "Free & Non" also stems from our free-spirited, creative approach. ◆ Design Philosophy ◆ We appreciate a raw, untamed aesthetic with minimal processing. Therefore, we preserve the original state of each leather hide, cherishing and respecting the unique texture and grain of every cowhide's surface. The marks left by collisions, injuries, or bites during the cattle's growth are, for us, features to be embraced, much like our own individual life journeys. We preserve the complete, raw edges of the leather, utilizing the leftover scraps from each creation. With hand-stitching, we craft one-of-a-kind handmade books, sharing them with you who also love to record life's little moments. This natural variation is precisely what Free & Non embraces. ◎ Scars and shedding on the inner fibrous surface of genuine leather are natural phenomena and are not further processed. ◎ Slight discoloration on the first and last inner pages due to contact with the leather is a normal occurrence. ◎ The product is entirely hand-stitched, and the paper is cut one sheet at a time with a blade.
