Collection description Zhao Chang (10th-11th century), courtesy name Changzhi, was a native of Chengdu, Sichuan. He was good at painting flowers. He would describe the scenery under the dew every morning, so he called himself sketching. Guo Ruoxu's "Historical Notes on Pictures" contains an article on "Painting Palace Flowers", which states that Xu Xi painted flowers and strange stones on the silk scrolls, mixed with birds and insects, and specially used them for hanging in the palace, also known as "decorating the hall flowers". Most of these works are neatly arranged and do not deliberately express the natural ecology. The composition and meaning of "Zhaochao Tu" are not without similarities, and may be the tradition of Xu Xi's "spreading palace flowers". Although this painting has the word "Chen Chang" in it, it is based on the brush and ink painting style. It should be a pseudonym for a painter after the Song Dynasty.
