The figure appears to be sitting in a relaxed posture, yet it's uncertain if this is a stable state. Her head is tilted slightly upwards, perhaps due to unconscious tension in her shoulders. She still holds onto something internally. Perhaps sensing this, I decided to clear her inner space, attempting to leave her in an empty state, which makes her seem distant.
Later, I realized this is much like life itself. We aren't always alert and calm; we are constantly affected by external interferences that influence our thoughts and intentions. Yet, despite these disturbances, we always return to that meditative posture, to that space, to reignite our inner fire and return to our origin.

Shigaraki clay is sourced from the Shigaraki region in Shiga Prefecture, a product of the ancient Lake Biwa's sedimentary processes.
Shigaraki clay is primarily composed of feldspar, quartz, and small amounts of mica and kaolinite. Its grain distribution is relatively coarse, containing a higher proportion of feldspar and quartz particles. Compared to American clays, it has a lower shrinkage rate, better heat resistance, and good firing stability, making it widely used in Japan. The Tanuki (raccoon dog) is also a symbol of the local pottery industry; Shigaraki Tanuki are not only representative of Shigaraki ware but have also become symbols of good fortune and business prosperity in Japan.
